Onchain Options Rankings

An option isn't a perp with extra steps — you pay a premium for a strike price and an expiry instead of posting margin against liquidation. Below are the venues actually running onchain options books in 2026, ranked by how transparent the model is and how much we could independently verify — not by TVL, which measures a completely different thing on every venue type.

Choose the options path before choosing a venue

The category includes books, RFQ, vaults, and Uniswap-native structures. How the product works determines what 'best' means.

The five venues worth knowing first

# Venue Model Chain / settlement Also lists Token Status
1 Derive CLOB + portfolio margin Ethereum-based Perps, spot, yield DRV Options and derivatives venue
2 Paradex CLOB + Paradigm RFQ Starknet-based Perps + pre-launch markets — (DIME is a separate, orbiting token) RFQ block flow going onchain
3 Aevo Hybrid CLOB (offchain match, onchain settle) Own L2 (Aevo) Perps + pre-launch markets AEVO Smaller options share than Derive
4 Rysk Vault / hybrid AMM + RFQ Arbitrum + HyperEVM No — income product only — Yield-first, not a trading book
5 Panoptic Uniswap-native perpetual options (no CLOB) Ethereum, Base, Unichain No — different product Points program, no TGE as of this writing Different mechanism, not directly rankable vs a CLOB

This order tracks how much of onchain options premium public research credits each venue with as of September 2026 — not a live number we're pulling ourselves, and it moves daily. Check current volume and open interest on the venue itself before sizing anything against this list.

Other venues worth knowing

These six do something different enough from a CLOB — routing orders instead of running a book, pricing options on event odds instead of an asset price, or simply predating the whole CLOB era — that stacking them against Derive or Paradex above would compare apples to a much older, differently-shaped orange. Each still gets its own full review.

On our radar, not yet reviewed

These names keep surfacing in research and on crypto Twitter, but there isn't enough we could independently confirm yet to stand behind a full review. Treat anything you hear about them as unconfirmed until that changes — the watchlist tracks what would move one of these into a review.

Hypercall

A pivot from the earlier Synapse project into 0DTE-style onchain options, per CT discussion. Too early and too thinly documented for us to write a confident review yet.

SOFA

Referenced on CT as part of the structured-vault layer alongside Stryke and older Ribbon-style DOVs. We could not independently verify enough current detail for a standalone review.

0DTE-style Base equity options

Tokenized-stock, same-day-expiry options projects on Base (e.g. builders targeting names like TSLA/NVDA-style tickers) — a TradFi 0DTE habit brought onchain. Too new/fragmented as a category to name and rank individual projects confidently yet.

HyperEVM "DRV flywheel" tokens

Copycat tokens (e.g. those branding themselves around a Derive-style buyback narrative) with no actual connection to Derive itself. Flagged here as a scam/confusion risk, not a venue to use.

One name you won't find here: Hyperliquid — it's a perp venue (see our Perp DEX Rankings). A native Hyperliquid options market, discussed on CT as "HIP-5," is unconfirmed as of this writing and lives on the watchlist instead. And Deribit — the centralized benchmark this whole category gets measured against in the complete guide — isn't a row in this table either; it's not onchain.
