VS

Aster wins on chain reach and market variety; edgeX wins on raw execution speed and deposit-chain support. Both tokens are already live — this is a trading-venue decision, not a farming one.

Taker Fee 0.04% 0.038%

Aster is a multichain perps venue spanning four chains with a live token; edgeX is a fast StarkEx-based exchange whose EDGE token also already launched. Both are established, post-TGE platforms — this comes down to chain footprint and execution model, not which one still has a farming window (neither does).

Chain reach versus execution speed

Aster deploys across BNB Chain, Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Solana, meaning near-zero bridging friction if you already hold assets on any of them, plus hidden orders and TradFi-style markets (stocks, FX, gold) alongside crypto. edgeX takes the opposite approach: one StarkEx zk-rollup with off-chain matching for sub-10ms execution, but broad deposit support across 70+ chains to fund it from almost anywhere.

Fees and leverage

Aster’s fees run slightly lower (0.005%/0.04% versus edgeX’s 0.015%/0.038%), and its headline leverage ceiling of up to 1001x on specific pairs dwarfs edgeX’s already-aggressive 100x — though Aster’s number is more marketing ceiling than practical trading parameter. edgeX’s fee schedule and leverage cap both sit in a more conventional, usable range.

Security surface

Aster’s multichain deployment means its security surface is the sum of four separate chain implementations rather than one, each requiring its own evaluation. edgeX’s single StarkEx deployment is narrower in scope but concentrates trust in one matching engine and one L2’s settlement guarantees.

Which one to actually use

  • Choose Aster if you’re already holding assets on BNB Chain, Ethereum, Arbitrum, or Solana specifically, or want TradFi-style markets alongside crypto.
  • Choose edgeX if you’re funding from a chain Aster doesn’t support, or want a faster off-chain matching engine with a more conventional leverage ceiling.
  • Neither is a farming play right now. Both tokens are live — if pre-token timing matters to you, see our pre-TGE farming roundup instead.

Frequently asked

Is Aster's 1001x leverage actually usable next to edgeX's 100x?

Aster's ceiling is real on specific crypto pairs but is closer to a marketing number than a practical tool — at that ratio a fraction-of-a-percent move liquidates a position. edgeX's 100x, while still aggressive, sits in a range more traders actually use.

Is either of these still worth farming for an airdrop?

Not in the pre-token sense. ASTER and EDGE have both already launched — Aster is in an ongoing Stage 5 rewards phase and edgeX runs a trade-to-earn rebate program, but neither is a fresh pre-token opportunity.
