Bulk Exchange and Pacifica are both Solana-native perpetuals DEXs with no token yet — but they sit at opposite points on the same timeline. Pacifica has been live since June 2025 and is currently reported as Solana’s highest-volume perps venue; Bulk went invite-only mainnet in September 2026 and is still building out its book. Neither has a token, which makes this less a “which is safer” question and more a “which stage of the curve do you want to be on” question.
Liquidity: Pacifica is the clear leader today
By independently reported daily volume, Pacifica overtook Jupiter Perps as Solana’s top perps venue within roughly three months of launch and has continued to lead since. Bulk’s order book is meaningfully smaller — real, but early, with depth concentrated in majors (BTC, ETH, SOL) during its Genesis phase. If execution quality on size is your priority today, Pacifica’s the more liquid book.
Access and stage: gated-and-early versus open-and-established
Bulk’s mainnet is invite-only, with additional access codes reportedly minted as your own trading volume crosses thresholds — a real gate, but also a signal of a platform still in a controlled-growth phase. Pacifica is fully open, with over a year of continuous operation and, by extension, a much larger base of existing farmers and traders already ahead of anyone starting today. Being gated is a friction; being a year into an undated points program is a dilution — different frictions, not obviously worse or better.
Farming stage: this is where the two genuinely diverge
Pacifica’s points program has run since September 2025 with a reported 200M+ points already minted — a new wallet today is entering a mature, diluted pool. Bulk’s AURA points program is tied directly to its September 2026 mainnet launch, plus a Genesis-phase 0% maker fee window that’s explicitly time-limited (through roughly early October 2026). If you’re specifically weighing “how early am I,” Bulk is structurally earlier, even though its book is thinner — that’s the actual tradeoff, not a hidden catch.
Fees: close, with Bulk’s Genesis window as the wildcard
Both run competitive, low fee schedules for the category — Bulk’s Genesis 0%/0.035% is temporary and will normalize; Pacifica’s reported ~0.0075%/0.04% (with VIP tiers dropping further) is closer to its steady-state. Neither fee schedule is the deciding factor here; the liquidity and farming-stage tradeoffs above matter more.
Which one to actually use
- Choose Pacifica if you want the deeper, more liquid book today and don’t mind that a fresh wallet is entering an already-mature points program.
- Choose Bulk if you want to be closer to the start of a points program specifically, can get (or already have) an access code, and are comfortable with a thinner order book while it grows.
- Neither has a published audit of its core trading logic that we found — verify current status on both before committing meaningful capital.
