Solflare

Solflare is one of the longer-running Solana wallets, available as a browser extension, mobile app, and web interface, with particular emphasis on hardware wallet integration (Ledger support) for users wanting keys stored on a dedicated physical device rather than software alone.

Like other self-custody wallets, Solflare stores your keys locally (or delegates signing to a paired hardware device), and handles the full range of Solana wallet functions — swaps, staking, NFT and token management, and dApp connections.

Reputation and track record

Solflare has operated since early in Solana’s history and is one of the wallets most commonly recommended specifically for users who want to pair a software interface with hardware-wallet key storage — a meaningfully more secure setup for anyone holding significant value.

Risk considerations

Standard wallet-layer risks apply: phishing sites impersonating the real app, and seed-phrase or hardware-device security. Pairing with a hardware wallet reduces (but doesn’t eliminate) exposure to malware on the connected computer, since transactions still need to be reviewed and physically approved on the device itself — don’t approve a transaction on the hardware device without reading what it actually says.
