Headline fees are only the first filter. Compare maker and taker snapshots across the tracked venue set, then include spread, price impact, funding, holding time, and liquidation risk before deciding where a trade actually belongs.
A fee field is a snapshot, not a promise. Account tier, pair, order type, campaign, spread, funding interval, and jurisdiction can change the result. A missing value remains unknown rather than being estimated.
How to compare the real cost of a perp trade
The round-trip cost of a perpetual position can include opening and closing fees, spread, price impact, funding transfers, borrowing or position fees, bridge or withdrawal costs, and the loss caused by liquidation. Maker and taker rates are useful inputs, but they are not a complete answer.
Choose the exact venue, market, order type, and notional size.
Record the current maker or taker rate and any verified discount.
Estimate spread and price impact at your size.
Model funding for the expected holding time and funding interval.
Check margin, liquidation, collateral, access, and withdrawal conditions.
A zero maker or taker rate can coexist with a wide quote, embedded RFQ spread, delayed execution, funding drag, shallow depth, or a position fee. Treat “zero fee” as a question to investigate, not as the final ranking criterion.
Current referral access
Referral discounts belong in the cost model only when the code, user benefit, eligibility, and current terms have been verified. If a venue is a good fit, use the venue-specific access path on its review or decision page; never choose a leveraged product solely for an incentive.
